About Us

About Breastfeed Atlanta

Breastfeed Atlanta is a multi-specialty lactation practice serving families across metro Atlanta. We combine physician-led medical oversight with IBCLC-certified lactation care, offered in our breastfeeding center, in your home, or by secure virtual visit. We accept most commercial insurance plans and all Georgia Medicaid CMOs.

Who we are

Families come to Breastfeed Atlanta when feeding is not going the way they hoped, and when they want answers from clinicians who treat lactation as a medical specialty rather than a sideline. As a multi-specialty lactation practice, we bring medical evaluation and hands-on lactation support together in one coordinated team.

That model lets us care for everything from early latch and pain to low milk supply, slow weight gain, and more complex medical situations, in whatever setting works for your family. Our care is evidence-based, current with the lactation-medicine literature, and built around your goals instead of a one-size-fits-all script.

What sets our care apart

  • Physician-led oversight Our Medical Directors, including a physician board-certified in breastfeeding and lactation medicine (NABBLM-C), provide clinical oversight and case consultation. That credential is held by only a handful of physicians in Georgia.
  • Dual-credentialed clinicians Several of our clinicians are both nurse practitioners and IBCLCs, so a medical assessment and expert lactation support can happen in the same visit.
  • A dedicated breastfeeding center Care happens in a freestanding, 3,600-square-foot breastfeeding center built around feeding families, which is uncommon for a lactation practice.
  • Insurance that includes Medicaid We accept most commercial plans and all Georgia Medicaid CMOs, so expert lactation care stays within reach for more families.
  • Full-scope, inclusive care One team supports the full range of feeding concerns, including gender-affirming and inclusive lactation care for every kind of family.

Our approach to care

Good lactation care meets you where you are. Whatever your feeding goals, our job is to give you accurate information, a clear plan, and steady support, without judgment about how you choose to feed your baby.

  • Evidence-based and current with lactation-medicine research
  • Family-centered, with plans built around your goals and your life
  • Available in our center, in your home, or by secure virtual visit
  • Welcoming to all families and all feeding choices

Our team

Your care may involve nurse practitioners, IBCLC-certified lactation consultants, and dual-credentialed clinicians who hold both certifications, with physician Medical Directors providing oversight and case consultation. Every member of the team shares the same focus: practical, respectful, clinically sound support for you and your baby.
